This is the slow jam of the year. Empire of the Sun is the side project of the lead singer of the great Australian band the Sleepy Jackson.
He writes extremely unique and often bizarre songs that stick in your head.
A positive tune for some hopeful days.

The picture is fucking absurd, but I actually like the jam.
I want to go to your Planet Sleep Jackson, we shall slay the beasts of the sky and dine on them in light of the moons.
The other band is actually the “Sleepy Jackson” instead of the “Sleep Jackson”. I can’t seem to do a post without a typo….one of these days.

Yeah, somebody recommended the video right when it was released and I was instantly hooked (which is unusual because I usually scoff at most neo-80’s sounding bands). The whole album is pretty good but the track you highlighted is definitely the best.
A very similar track that I would recommend (if you haven’t already heard it) is MGMT’s “Electric Feel” ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtUI5MC9tVM )
There was another song from MGMT I liked but I can’t remember now. Any Ideas?
